Erica is a fourth-generation Chinese American director whose work has been showcased at the New Orleans Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival and SHOOT Magazine’s 16th Annual New Director’s Showcase, where she also spoke on an industry panel at the Directors Guild Theatre in New York. In 2018, Erica was 1 out of 6 directors hand-selected for a directing fellowship created by the Directors Guild of America and Association of Independent Commercial Producers. Through the program, Erica directed a commercial for Homeboy Industries starring the Emmy-nominated actor – Richard Cabral.
A lyrical storyteller, Erica is inspired by her Oakland roots and creates work that reflects the diverse community in which she grew up. Her first narrative screenplay “Americanized” placed as a Finalist in the 2020 ScreenCraft Screenplay competition. The film based on her experiences growing up playing high school basketball is currently in Post Production.
