Matt Sklar was born in Austin, Texas, but was soon swept away to a small, much less cool little town in central Florida. Plagued with suburban ennui, he was constantly creating things and eventually got ahold of a VHS camera and rarely let go of it. In high school, he filmed every social gathering and cut together embarrassing montages for all to enjoy. He studied film at the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts. Once in Los Angeles, he continued exploring his passion for impromptu documentary storytelling, meeting interesting people and making films about them on the spot. This soon evolved into telling brand stories around the world for companies like Procter and Gamble, Allstate, Johnson and Johnson, Band-Aid, Quicken and more. Matt has a knack for capturing the essence of people with a relentlessly authentic approach. In addition to making films he also enjoys making things to eat and making things made of wood. He drives a 2007 Honda Civic.
