An accomplished filmmaker, Mike’s documentary projects have won numerous awards and garnered critical acclaim. He served as showrunner on the HBO series Level Playing Field examining inequality in sports and society. As director of Marvel’s Behind the Mask, he explored alter egos in Marvel comics, now streaming on Disney+. Mike helmed the episodic series Blackballed about the Donald Sterling / LA Clippers race scandal, currently streaming on Roku, and nominated for a 2020 Critics Choice Award. He’s also directed numerous ESPN 30 for 30 films, including The High Five, which debuted at SXSW, won the jury award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, and is one of the most-watched films in the 30 for 30 shorts library. His filmography also includes his SXSW award-winning debut feature, Audience of One, and shorts lauded on Nowness, Pitchfork, Popup Magazine, Vimeo Staff Picks, and prestige festivals such as Tribeca, True/False, New Directors/New Films, AFIDocs, among many others.

Films for Microsoft, Meta, Zendesk, and spots for Toyota, Infiniti, and Square, among other clients, have won Clios, Webbys, and landed features in Adweek, Shoot, and the New York Times.  

Based in the Bay Area but comfortable just about anywhere his projects take him, Mike’s curiosity, empathy, and love for the craft continue to shape his filmmaking endeavors.
